The post-processor asks the user a number of questions, these are:
The name of the payout path (.PAY) file to use.
The name of the program file (.PRG) to create.
XDAT: 'X' axis datum to locate the mandrel in the machine.
The Payout eye extension length.
The feed rate calculation method and winding speed.
The NC part program number for the main program (if required)
The NC part program number for the subroutine (if required)
These are explained in more detail (where necessary) in the following sections. In most cases the data is checked for validity and the user is asked to re-enter invalid values.
